Description summary
- You join as a lead full-stack engineer owning Gymdesk’s LNMP web apps for gym and wellness management.
- You work on the product roadmap, infrastructure robustness and dev tickets while building new customer-driven features.
- You handle varied weekly tasks like implementing features, fixing bugs, designing architecture, writing tests and doing code reviews.
- You mentor less experienced engineers and help refine the backlog, conduct technical spikes and shape the overall technology direction.
- You bring 6+ years of professional development experience, including 4+ years with a PHP stack and a major MVC framework such as Symfony or Laravel.
- You are comfortable with Linux, Nginx, MySQL, client-side web technologies and classic JavaScript libraries like jQuery and jQuery UI.
- You communicate fluently in English and can provide at least 2-3 hours overlap with London time plus an 8-hour overlap with the Tokyo workday.
- You live in Japan, work fully remotely, and receive a full-time salary of USD 65k-90k plus health insurance where available, 20 PTO days and national holidays, with applications submitted in English.
